DeSibilizer analyzes input signal and show the result in spectrogram.

By dragging two horizontal bars, one can adjust frequency range of sibilant band, the frequency range that DeSibilizer try to detect sibilants.

White translucent box indicates the time span (horizontal) and the frequency range (vertical) that DeSibilizer applied reduction to signal.

Sibilant Detector

DeSibilizer shows detected sibilants level by height of graph. Higher value indicates thah there is higher level of sibilants at the time point.

Dark color time period indicates that sibilant detected but not reduced. Bright color time period indicates that sibilant detected and reduced.

By dragging horizontal bar, one can adjust the sibilant threshold, the level of sibilants that DeSibilizer starts reduction.

ENGAGE button toggles plugin’s bypass state.

LOOKAHEAD knob adjusts lookahead amount. For larger value, DeSibilizer starts to reduce sibilant signals before it begins.

SENSITIVITY knob controls the beavior of sibilant detector. Sibilant detector graph will show higher value for larger value of SENSITIVITY knob. One can tweak the behavior of detection. In FIXED mode, DeSibilizer uses absolute threshold for sibilant detection. In ADAPTIVE mode, DeSibilizer analyzes input signal and adjust threshold automatically.

RANGE knob controls the amount of reduction that DeSibilizer applies to signal of sibilant band.

ATTACK knob controls the time length from the beginning of reduction and the moment of full reduction.

MAKEUP knob controls the amount of gain applied to sibilant band.

COMPENSATION BOOST knob control the maximum amount of time-varied boost applied to total band. The timing of boost is synchronized to reduction of sibilant band.

OUTPUT GAIN knob controls the amount of gain applied to total band.

One can choose monitoring component by MONITOR button group.

TOTAL

The sum of sibilant band signals (with reduction if applied) and non-sibilant band.
